Plan a visit

Sometimes one of the toughest first steps is actually visiting the church. We understand that and want to make your visit as easy as possible. At Edgewood, we are not perfect and don’t pretend to be. With that being said, we are looking for more opportunities to share Christ with the community, and help them out any way we can. We are a growing church and would love for you to be a part of it all.

What to expect

A typical Sunday revolves mostly around singing a few songs, and expository preaching. For those curious what that is, expository preaching involves the explanation of the Scripture; that is, expository preaching presents the meaning and intent of a biblical text, providing extensive explanation and examples to make the passage clear and understandable. The word exposition is related to the word expose—the expository preacher’s goal is simply to expose the meaning of the Bible, verse by verse.

An expositor cares little if his audience says, “What a great sermon” or “What an entertaining speaker.” What he truly wants them to say is, “Now I know what that passage means,” or “I better understand who God is and what He requires of me.”

What to wear

This is one of the most common questions people ask prior to visiting a church. At Edgewood, we are a group of casual dressers, so don’t feel like you need to come in a suit and tie. With that being said, we do of course ask you to dress modestly with respect towards God. But our focus is on more than what you wear. Our primary focus is on seeing you become a Christian and to help you in your journey as a Christian. We are here to help you in whatever area you need help in, but more importantly, we are here to serve God, and to grow together in Christ.
